I don’t think it makes sense to pay for Scott. We already pay a ridiculous amount to Diaz. I’d like Robertson back for the BP. It also wouldn’t surprise me if we end up trading for Castillo or another top or near the top of the rotation starter
I think it makes perfect sense. With all the money invested in Soto, it's time to go for it. You might find it ridiculous how much players are getting paid, but the market is what the market is. Are they paying Soto so that they can lose a lot of games 7-4? The starting staff is a pile of question marks and they might flop big-time. They were very lucky last year with about 4 starters performing better than expected and few injuries. Trading for Castillo? The price would be mighty big. Which of our top prospects would you be willing to part with?
Well I doubt Scott is willing to be a set up guy but we can disagree on him. I do agree we need another high leverage reliever. As for what I’d be willing to trade for Castillo and I have no idea what it would take considering the word was Seattle wanted to shed some salary. Maybe Gilbert, Baty and ? Something like that. I’m not even sure we’re still looking for a starter. I’m just not loving our rotation as is right now.
