The great article pretty much sums up how a lot of disappointed fans feel today. I have been a Mets fan since 1967. I haven't felt this good about my team in a long time. It is funny how your feelings for and about this team can change so much in a span of about ten or so games. The on again off again offense had been my concern though for much of the year. I was unhappy with our results at the trade deadline but told myself that this was necessary in order for the Mets to hold on to their top farm hands. That may still prove to be the best strategy in the long run. But sometimes when you have something special as we did with this team and the fact that this team was built to win this year and with all the uncertainty concerning the free agent players coming this winter, you have to do as San Diego did and shoot for the World Series this year. This will be an important off-season for the Mets but if they continue to hold all their top minor leaguers, I wonder how they will fill all the holes and rebuild parts of the team that will require work after some of our free agents depart. I hope that our General Manager is able to do a better job with this than he did during the trade deadline.

45 year Met fan , getting desperate for one more championship; used to think I would see many especially since Steve Cohen but Eppler and the trade deadline made it feel like the old days with the Wilpons. Hoping for a good winter of improvement- more offense. Hope Alvarez and Baty are real deal.

No need to change the optics. There will be changes, new faces, new teammates, like every year with every team. This team does need to get younger and with the expected additions of Alaverz and Baty next season, it does add power and hitting. Who stays and who goes, nobody knows at this point. Many factors go into those decisions. But let's make one thing clear; These are NOT the Wilpon Mets.

Thank goodness that Optic has changed
