Hunter Greene is the name which fascinates me the most. Plug a big, flamethrowing righty into our rotation and we'll really have them coming and going.

I think he's gettable, too.

Wish you wouldn't bring up Baty's name in trades for pitchers with big ifs. What's the good of developing players who show promise like Baty (2nd half .291/.353/.829) and then trading them for an iffy return before they hit their prime? There's every reason to think Baty can be a solid or better fixture at 3rd for years. If you want to dangle Vientos or McNeil, sure, go ahead.

I find Sonny Gray’s comment hilarious. So, now, guys who don’t wish to be where their feet are tank themselves? I’ve seen players act like petulant children to get out of playing for teams while still keeping their value even with head case attached to them. I don’t believe a word he says because no player would not want to be playing for the 27 time WS champion NY Yankees. He can’t pitch in NY is more likely the narrative. Hey, some guys can’t handle the pressure and unfortunately it actually takes playing there to find that out. Crying sour grapes afterward by saying “you never wanted to go there” hits the bullshit buzzer for me. Just say you can’t handle the big town and move on. The Mets checking in on every player available is what Stearns should be doing. It’s his job. How aggressive he gets will shape the team for next year of course. I like the Lopez move and have mentioned it before. I don’t know why it needs to one or the other though. Why not both him and Joe Ryan? Minny wants to get rid of Lopez’s contract so figure out the players going back and kill two birds with one stone. Senga would be a good fit here IMO. Only 15 mil going back for taking on Lopez’s 22 mil and Ryan gets a prospect or two. Just sayin’. If Skubal can’t be had in a trade then just wait until you gotta pay him. That’s why FA exists.
