(Not gonna happen, he emphasized.) ... I don't question Andy's reporting. The more time passed, the less likely Pete's return became. That said, Andy's utter exasperation with Mets fans for expressing their hope on social media is quite irritating.
What did Andy expect? It's a sad situation. Pete's a home grown player who seemingly wanted to be a Met for life. Mets fans are attached to him. And the Mets sure as Hell need a power bat. However unrealistic, I can't blame anyone for holding out hope. And Andy should be able to withstand at least a few more weeks of fan comments without kvetching.🙄
Ballpark food is crazy expensive...even here in Minnesota. The Mets should definitely offer cheaper options.
