To be sure, Alonzo looks more relaxed this year as pressure seems off of him...and his plate discipline has improved. Maybe better by learning from Soto??

Don't we root for the Amazins not the Amazons? 🤣

What's ironic is that a sizable number of Met fans, pundits & baseball "experts" doubted whether Alonzo was the best option to protect Soto in the lineup. While Pete has certainly delivered so far, Soto has been underwhelming.

I think that unless the starters start going at least 6 innings, the bullpen will be overused and begin to crack. The lineup will work itself out. Brett has not been very impressive, and I'd play Acuna steady at 2b.

Pete's keeping that front shoulder in and really bearing down on the ball. He's going to be a force all season (with the usual caveats of sluggers having ups and downs).

It's great to see, and it started in the postseason last year. It's almost like he said, "What the heck, no worries now, just go for it" and he just went for it and it all clicked in again. Then he built on it over the winter. And here we are.

I'm thrilled. Hopefully he keeps it up, gets paid, and we spend the next five years wreaking havoc in the NL East.

What are the Mets going to do when Blackburn comes back? Can Danny Young be sent down? Everyone else has pitched too well...

He doesn’t have any options so would have to go on waivers. He hasn’t looked very good this year

It may be a good problem to have but it's still a problem. He was good last year. He would be sure to be picked up, I'd think.
