One thing that I don’t hear anyone saying is that there is virtually no way the 2024 version of Scherzer and Verlander will be better than the 2023 version. There has never been a pitcher who pitched better at 40 then at 39. why do we think that we will be more competitive with these two aging arms? What is keeping Verlander and scherzer is actually bad for winning? Pitchers age, don’t they?
