I agree except no one wants to wait till opening day to see if we have an additional hitter we need in a year where we want to compete for WS. So if Pete isn’t going to sign soon, it is time to pivot!

Pivot to who?? They've allowed literally every no -Pete option to go off the board. In Stearns I trust, but I would have preferred to see some more decisive action outside of Soto. Otherwise, it's felt like a bunch of ambivalence/ bargain hunting at a time when they should be taking some risks.

The clock is ticking more loudly every day.

If the $90m/3 thing was real, Pete should have took it - of course at this point Pete should also be kicking himself for turning down the $158.

The longer this goes on, the more it becomes an interest thing - and not in the financial sense. That could lead to some bruised feelings, particularly with a guy who wears it on his sleeve.

Nunca me ha caído bien Boras. Es un negociante puro, me parece que el beisbol no le importa demasiado. De hecho, es posible que ni le guste.

The irony is, 7 years and $158 million guaranteed is probably right on target for the current market. It might even be a little generous considering the Walker contract.

I hope this hurts Boras' business reputation going forward but he seems to be Teflon coated.

I definitely want to sign Pete but only at the right price. Honestly, Christian Walker is a better all around 1st baseman and he signed for 3 for $60m. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, why is Pete "worth" 3/90?

Exactly. He’s younger and hits more HRs so he’ll get more but I Don’t think he should get much more
