The Mets top pitching prospect is hoping for a big year in 2025 after impressing during his first live batting practice session in Port St. Lucie on Thursday
Same here. I hate the idea giving up prospects for a rental to begin with. But to give up a promising -- and affordable -- pitcher, plus at least one other top position player (and likely two), for a one-season rental with a big price tag attached if we want to keep him? Not a great idea.
I think I'd rather see the Mets pitch Sproat this season vs trading him for Cease.

Agree! Let's see what we have in Sproat! Who would I trade for one year of Cease? Maybe Williams, Megill, Baty, and Vargas.
