Pete and the Mets need to conclude that as Frank sang, It's love and marriage, they go together like a horse and carriage, this I tell you brother, you can't have one without the other!
Didn't know that Boras had that many clients who signed extensions. Hope it happens. To digress: it's worth noting that despite the lamentations, guess who leads the Mets in runs scored? Soto. Who's fifth in rbi's? Baty.
The New York Mets traded Pete Crow-Armstrong to the Chicago Cubs for infielder Javier Báez and pitcher Trevor Williams. It looks like (to me, at this point) that at least one of the infield prospects will go in a trade at the deadline. Maybe we can get Crow-Armstrong back. 😀
Did you have to bring up that painful fact? It might turn out to be in the great pantheon of awful Mets trades along with Nolan Ryan, Ken Singleton, and Jeff Kent. I'd consider trading Vientos but not any of Acuna, Baty, or Mauricio.
El artículo sobre Alonso y su futuro próximo tendría más sentido en Septiembre. Ojalá mantenga el mismo nivel en los próximos meses, pero no olvidemos que solo llevamos un tercio de temporada.
I'm sure the message when Cohen and Stearns flew down to Florida was, "Go hit, get paid." Pete's holding up his side of the bargain. They'll hold up theirs.
My guess: six years, $195 million guaranteed with an automatic option for year seven at the $32.5 million AAV if certain metrics are met (and they won't be hard). Total value: $227.5 million.
That being said, Pete might want the guarantee to surpass $200 million just for pride's sake. So his ask could end up bumping the AAV to the $33-34 million level. Which wouldn't be insurmountable.
All Met fans what them to do things at the trade deadline and then when one gets away they cry, it happens. These same people who comment about Crow-Armstrong had Jared Kelnic in the HOF! Im sick of everyone anointing Ohtani the MVP He shouldn't even have won last year. Who cares about 50 SB's from a DH. And the same goes for runs scored this year. He's not even the MVP of his team. Take away Freddie and that team is not the same. Nor is Ohtani

Did not look good then, and just bloody awful now!
