Alcantara seems the most realistic but we’ve been talking about him for a few years now. I admit I don’t know a lot about Ryan. I doubt Skubal gets traded but if he does he’s the guy for sure.

Peterson? Unless traded, he's a certainty to be in the starting rotation. He's a good pitcher who ran out of gas. And it is indeed "shoo-in", not "shoe-in".

I really like the idea of pursuing Alcantara and Ryan in trade talks, but Skubal is a Boras client, and an unlikely trade candidate. I think you meant ‘shoo-in’ and not ‘shoe-in’ in your article.

Please No Freddy Peralta. That screams Montas all over again. The answer is Skubal with Joe Ryan second. I like Lopez but he has shoulder issues. Sandy is another but the issue there is seeing what you traded for him 13 times a season and we’ve seen that movie too many times as they become Mets killers. Cease is someone you don’t know what your getting start to start which will drive fans crazy. Valdez looks good but his number one pitch gets crushed. Look at Savant and the numbers aren’t great. Stearns is going to have to get over his not wanting to give long contracts to pitchers for any of the pitchers though. Sandy not there yet. The answer though is Skubal who is going to need the contract after you trade for him of course. Joe Ryan would be my second and you probably get Lopez thrown in with him because of his contract. Kirby is interesting but again Savant numbers. King to me is over Cease.

Such a great article. Thank you for your insight. It's always exciting to see who they sign! ✌🏼

I admit I've done no research on this, but what is this 'pitching lab' the writers speak of?? It didn't seem to help many on this staff whatever it was.
