I know I am in the minority but I think Beltran will go in the HOF without a logo on his cap.
He signed a 7 year contract and was a Met for 6.5 seasons before being traded. He had 3 Exceptional seasons, no doubt, but the other 3.5 he missed a lot of time due to injury and his first year was just not HOF worthy.
Don't rule out a possible trade just yet. The outcome of Skubal's upcoming arbitration case will decide whether the Tigers will be forced to trade him before the season begins or wait until the deadline. If they lose the case and have to pay Skubal $32M, the Tigers will be on the clock to move him before they have to start paying him. There are only a handful of teams that will be in play for a $32M rental and knowing the Tigers will be in desperation mode, a team like the Mets will be in prime position to land him for less than they would have before.
I think this is in the ballpark. It's a waiting game right now. I think everyone assumes Skubal is going to get his number in arbitration, and then Detroit has to make a decision. No need to rush.
Beltran should still be the manager and my guess is that he is the manager in waiting. He will go with the Mets hat. Why In the world would the Mets grab Brujan? A career .199 hitter with less than a .600 ops? They have plenty of infield back up players. He doesn’t move the needle much being included in a trade unless Baty is currently being shopped along with Vientos and Mauricio. It would’ve been nice to add Gore too.
Vientos' value in trade must be very low, like Senga. I'd keep them both and hope for rebounds rather than sell for peanuts. It's a little surprising that the Mets didn't outbid Texas for Gore. From what I can tell, the package wasn't overwhelming and Gore's good for two years, not one. Maybe the intra-division aspect was the issue?
I also feel Beltran may go in without a logo. I noticed the Mets stats but not the KC stats. That’s misleading, and bad writing. Beltran had a very good KC career: more RBI, hits, stolen bases, way more triples, and better batting average. With the Mets he got all three of his Gold Gloves, and had more MVP consideration.

Just my opinion.

The Mets could’ve sent major league pitchers back for him. I’d say sending him to Texas surely was about getting him far away from the division.
Do you think the cubs would be able to snag him

1) * 2017. Let Beltran go in as an Astro.
2) Our 1B and 3B have never played those positions. That's a disaster in the making.
3) Who replaces Polar Bear's numbers? Did we hire a 40 HR, 130 RBI first baseman I don't know about?
4) I'm hearing our new 3B has a weak arm. Noodle arm, the fans of his previous team calls him.
5) Rotation is better but not LA Dodgers or PA Philly level better.
Should cheating have excluded him
from the hall? He was banging on trash cans in Houston!!
