Alonzo oddly seems MUCH more relaxed....hes being the player he's always wanted to be. Soto has been a good influence I hope. Pete has chased very few bad pitches. And Torrenz deserves to stay as starting catcher I'm believing. He has kowed base runners and teams are now fearful of running on him, no?? And his hitting has been a surprise. Were half our starters out injured?? And STILL the 'other' guys put up best pitching numbers in league....I think that puts fear into the other NL teams.

Happy for Pete, he has always given it his all not only for himself, but for the team. With all the injured players rehabbing to get back, don't screw around with Acuna. Get him in there often, let him develop. I believe he is a gem and can be a long term part of the team

Pete broke Devin Williams and may have killed Bob Uecker in the process of doing so. A rueful memory, indeed, as Studs Terkel once said.

Si Alonso mantiene durante toda ka temporada un nivel similar o incluso menos inhumano que el actual, Cohen tendrá que extender un cheque con muchas cifras o dejar marchar definitivamente al jugador. Hagan sus apuestas...

Don’t disagree with your assessment of him. But I do believe your memory is short regarding his struggles in the near past. It’s always about expectations based on talent and whether that is met or not. For example, as nice a year Lorrens is having, his expectations are also different. Pete definitely was a “not” last year. Most of us-including you-were fairly critical, venomous haters aside. The trend was concerning, considering the high financial stakes involved. Own up, Michael. We can at least agree we’re thrilled, so far, this year.

Excellent writeup, but what about McLean's performance at Binghamton?
