I used to be a big Baty advocate. Both last year and this year, he hits some in the second half and stinks it up in first half. He's had plenty of opportunity to show he belongs and he hasn't taken advantage. I'd be inclined to give a shot next year to Rojas or Pitre instead of burning more of the hope candle.

I have no idea who Mr. Flavney is aside from The Athletic’s description. That he has worked with Stearns before is notable, but it’s also clear Cohen sees a need to support vs contrast his chosen leader. Time will tell there. The logic about firming up the front office early also makes sense. I’m curious to see what happens with Green’s staff. Stearns scrubbed the group when he fired Mendoza, and I wonder whether Green had much of a voice in the successors or whether he was just a caretaker to the status quo.

I'm guessing that they keep most of the coaches. They need some stability.
Was thinking similarly, with the exception being on-field. Base-path management has been sub-par. Makes Green’s job harder next year.
