The Whiz Kid Stearns is the Worst thing to happen to the Mets - we are running out of time to sign Pete and a DH otherwise this Soto signing was a WASTE !! WE better be able to score a LOT of runs with our pitching staff !!
The Mets made him a fair offer. 30 million a year is more than he is worth. I'd give him till Friday, and would walk away if he didn't want the offer. He has already done this for a lot more money last year. I'd pursue Bregman

This is a distinct possibility. Although if Pete were to come in at, say, five years and $125 million, it would take Vladdy off the board.
But if he doesn't, this might indeed be Plan B, with maybe Marte and Winker platooning at DH, or maybe taking a shot at Santander if the numbers work.
