I think that’s mostly a case of his age, tbh — he’s 35, not exactly the hottest number for a free agent commodity in a range-heavy (or any) position. Given the clear focus on signing glue guys this winter, the front office must’ve seen a dearth of leadership/mentorship that needed to be addressed on multiple levels. It’s all in the name of culture change, and this specific focus is one I’ll support every time — no such thing as having too much experience in your clubhouse
