Yup. Looks good on the Robert trade and looks good on the Peralta trade. Certainly could've done better over the winter with the back end of the bullpen. The Polanco signing hasn't worked out so far, although it's early. The big stain is losing Diaz to the Dodgers for a similar offer. And the discrepancy between the "run prevention" slogan and the reality is a little embarrassing. Not to repeat myself, but I repeat: if the Mets don't make the playoffs this year, I expect Stearns to be shown the door. A lot of coin has been dropped and the results better be there.
Not a question of patience for me because as a fan (therefore passive involvement) I stick to my mantra: you stink until you don’t; you’re good until you’re not with mediocrity (.500) the bridge between. That allows me to realize the reality of the day and not get into Homer vs Doomsday projections and debate. It is what it is at the moment. Right now: they stink
Agree with most of this. But the "many players haven't played together before" doesn't seem like it should be a factor in the lack of hitting. Of course, many have talked about the awkwardness of the Mets defensive alignment going into the season with so many players in new positions, but after the Mets lost out on Kyle Tucker, Bichette was by far the best available bat and acquiring him led to what we've got. Finally, I don't think dumping Luis Garcia was curious at all, I'm all for it. Small favors department: we'd be feeling even worse if Alonso was doing well in Baltimore.
Stearns isn’t looking that good right now as well

Blah, Blah, Blah. 40 years and counting. That’s all I’m saying

I couldn't convince myself to watch yesterday. They're lifeless.
