I'm with you. I guess one can say that Bellinger is more versatile and fits their CF and first base need better. Apart from that, Bellinger has had a couple of good years while Tucker is one of the best hitters around and consistent, too. I hope it's all talk and they sign Tucker. Btw, fans are mighty desperate for some real news. Buster Olney makes a brief comment and 82 bloggers repeat it and get clicks.
If I was a great pitcher I'd want stupid money, a chill atmosphere, low taxes, nice weather, and a team that can get me WS rings. Mets can pay, but the locker room is toxic, NYC has the worst taxes un USA, it snows from December to April, and the front office are so fucked up that they won't see a WS ring in Cohen's lifetime. They don't want to win, which is why Alonso and Diaz are gone.
What is their rationale behind preferring Bellinger to Tucker? It's Jan 6 & they've done virtually nothing.

Players want to play where they feel welcome and atmospheric situation is calmer
Well, I've always been a McNeil fan and he's a guy I'd want on my team. Of course, he's well past his prime.
