Jefry Yan is trash, going out of his way to embarrass the other team. It'll be a good day when he goes away. But we live in an era where not running out ground balls is accepted as is standing at the plate and watching your long fly hit the outfield wall. Sportsmanship and hustle (guys like Nimmo are a rarity) is a quaint notion from a bygone era. Punks like Yan are hailed by pundits instead of being criticized.

I do check in on games now to see how they’re doing—fast forwarding when they’re down until if and when they come back. My time is too valuable to watch a lousy product. Because they’re out of it, I don’t need to watch when they’re playing lousy, so only in those instances where they’re playing well buys my time. There have been some incredible times since I started watching in 1962 as a kid and a lot of bad baseball too.
