Instead of making a play for Nimmo, I think we should think outside the box and offer a 12 year $330 mil contract to Correa. We put Correa at 3rd base and move Baty to LF. I’m thinking in the next 2 years are we going to want to sign Polar Bear to a massive size deal? I would rather have Correa and put someone else at first base starting in 2024 and trade Alonso.
Kevin Parada can start learning how to play 1st base and can probably speed through the system because he is an advanced bat.
I would have Baty and Vientos play strictly OF corners and see how they develop in the minors.
Also would have Mauricio learn CF because that is a position we need going forward.
Jett can be our 2nd baseman of the future.
I think going over the Cohen tax for this year and maybe next year as well, then we can go down and do a quick reboot of the salary cap.
Also I would try and sign Senga or Bassitt. Then maybe sign Thor to a 3 year 39 mil contract. If that happens trade Cookie away for salary relief and do your best to trade McCann while absorbing some of his money.
