Why isn’t there more light put on the hitting coaches and strategist? Isn’t it there job to put a game plan together and figure out how to get out of these slumps? It’s the same strategy every game, swing at anything and everything. Situational hitting is non existing.
I’m taking a break from them for awhile . I keep them on speed channel and check the score but it hurts too much to watch now. I’m 78 years old and have been a Mets fan since they came into being. Thank goodness for the Knicks- hopefully they can keep the good feelings going for a little bit longer.
Keith or Ron says an at-bat is a turning point of the game. And it goes south on them. Oh well.
The batters not getting on base at all for over four innings until someone was hit by a pitch in the ninth (wasn't it 14 batters?) is an example of stuff that should bother us.
Not growing pains. That sort of thing.
Anyway, I'm sad Peterson is struggling. He was a good guy to have in the past. He doesn't have it now. Might be time to call someone up from the minors.
I am, in a way, happy that they are not teasing us too much. They can make some moves without dreams of the postseason. Get something for a rental of Peralta. etc.
You guys are about to lose me. So much whining. Not every season works out. This is a rebuild year. We're consistently losing to the better teams and at least improving against the crap teams. So we're somewhere bottom middle. As a fan of the Mets and baseball, I certainly wish they were better, but I can enjoy all the positives the season is bringing. Lot's of new faces to be excited about. It's time to stop being butt hurt that the season didn't work out.
The Mets have had many seasons that don't work out. At some point, you lose patience, especially with the talent and money available. But if you are the sort of fan that just enjoys it, even when they blew it last year and had years of futility, that's good too. There are different types of Mets fans. Some vent more.
Yeah, I can see letting Alfonso go, but why not sign a real first baseman for fewer years. And where was the scouting/decision making on Peralta? He was gonna be a 3.5-4.0 ERA/5+ innings guy, not a top of the rotation starter. Not even close.
