I love the breakdown on Torrens. My day is better when I see him in the lineup.
Quick note about him. He rarely shows emotion as some catchers do when the pitcher delivers a cookie. But when Tatis tattooed Thornton's first pitch, watch Torrens' reaction. It was almost as if he blamed himself.
As the man once said, for a Mets win it was a simple twist of fate! Torrens in his time with the Mets has always been terrific! And now for the moment a power plant! He should be a Met for the rest of his career.
The game summary would be a touch more informative if it said that Jefry Fun Yan came on in the 7th with runners on first and second and promptly gave up a run scoring single to Ty France, restoring the Padres 3 run lead.
Seems that way. I'm stumped why the statistic of percentage of inherited runners allowed to score isn't more frequently cited. Especially with the explosion of exotic (for me, anyway) statistics. After all, a reliever can have an ERA of zero and still be very ineffective.

He’s been great at not allowing his own runs, but every time he comes in with men on base he allows them to score
