Brett Baty, MJ Melendez, and Mark Vientos have all been pretty disappointing overall this season. With Francisco Lindor expected back soon and roster spots becoming tighter, should the Mets consider designating any of them for assignment or sending them to the minors?
Vientos has shown power at times, but his inconsistency continues to be a problem. Baty has flashed improvement defensively, yet his offensive production remains uneven. Melendez hasn't done much to justify a regular role either. At what point does the club decide that potential is no longer enough and make room for players who can contribute more consistently?
Hey Rich.My question revolves around the bullpen game.It used to be a stop gap ,an emergency type of thing and it has now evolved into a pitching strategy.I know injuries have derailed the Mets pitching staff but why are they using it so frequently?Lately the opener has been giving it up and the so called bulk guy hasn’t been much better. When will diminished results bring us back to a straight five man rotation?Thank you very much.
How on earth could a team be this bad handling challenges? Losing both challenges by the 2nd inning the other night was pure lunacy. They take unnecessary risks in low-outcome scenarios.
