Really nice ode to the 2024 Mets. My first team was the 1985 Mets, metsmorized by Gooden and Strawberry. Then, I broke my wrist on 10/25/86 so I'll never forget the slow roller up the line. I read the 1987 Year Book about 100 times, and since bought another copy, recapping all the playoff games of '86. Losing to the '88 Dodgers, Orel Hershiser really, in the NCLS was the most heartbreaking as a 10yo, maybe my first sports heartbreak of MANY to follow. Next to those teams, yes, this 2024 team is one for the ages and they should be celebrated as such. All the memories they made this year were really special and will last a lifetime. Tough to say what the future brings, but it feels like we're in good hands so you have to feel positive about that. Let's Go Mets!
