Meet Mookie Wilson in Dobbs Ferry this weekend!
The Mets Hall of Famer will be dropping by the Little League for their jewel event of the year
I am not one to use this platform to promote anything. Our daily newsletter is about the Mets in a nutshell with a little opinion to start your day.
But this coming weekend, we have a very special former Met visiting the Dobbs Ferry Youth Little League at Memorial Park in Dobbs Ferry. Mookie Wilson will be making a pitstop at the park on Saturday, May 11 to sign autographs, take pictures, and participate in activities with our players before they conclude “Little League Weekend” with two games under the stars.
Mookie will be dropping in at around 5 PM, depending on traffic. If you want his autograph, it’s $20 on a flat or a ball (we have 100 8 x 10 photos for Mookie to sign, but you have to bring a baseball for him to sign - we don’t have any).
Knowing Mookie, he will take pictures and selfies and mingle with you all night long.
It’s also the league’s way of celebrating our youth athletes, promoting the games of baseball and softball and giving them an event they’ll never forget. There will be food, music, and baseball for all to watch until bedtime.
I’ll be there too, probably on the public address. Not that I am an attraction of course, but I always like mingling with fans and talking baseball myself.
If you plan to come, bring a hoodie as it may be a little cool out.
Hope to see you there!
