The Mets, who have struggled in recent weeks, bounce back with a big win over the Dodgers. Plus, how David Peterson gave the team exactly what they needed.
Glad you brought up the possibility of signing Peterson long term. The Braves have done it with so many of their good young players. Btw, Peterson didn't set the house afire for his first four years in the bigs. And he'll never lead the league in WHIP. Not everyone arrives on the scene like Paul Skenes. Plenty of commenters after NY Post articles said he was crap and should be traded for the proverbial "bag of balls". Same for Baty. Patience pays off.
Brett hopefully may have figured it out and become what he can be! Peterson right up there around the top tier of pitchers. Soto just be Soto, and all will fall into place!
Soto drive with bases loaded was 1 foot from being a grand slam....and that's what we'd be talking about! Batys shot too to left center was just a foot from clearing fence for a 3 run homer...
What you say has truth to it....how many pitchers have the Mets given up on....and players succeeded in another city. Nolan Ryan, Tug McGraw, ....Wheeler (how did they let him get away?). The reliever that wanted to be a starter.....then got traded. And succeeded as a starter. I'll chalk it up to poor management decisionmaking.
