Here is what Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters on Friday morning:
The Mets had a full off-day on Thursday - they will go through a full team workout today, including live batting practice and defensive drills at Citi Field
Adam Ottavino and Danny Young - two pitchers who have not been used in the playoffs - are expected to pitch live to hitters today
The Mets haven’t decided on a Game 1 starter for the NLCS yet. They will decide by tomorrow, but it could be Kodai Senga, Luis Severino or Sean Manaea
The club continues to view David Peterson as a multi-inning reliever during the playoffs, considering how well he has adapted and performed in that role
Jeff McNeil will get four at-bats and play 7-9 innings in the Arizona Fall League Friday and Saturday, at which point the Mets will make a decision about activating him or not for the NLCS
The Mets could drop a pitcher for McNeil and keep an extra player on the bench, if he is activated
It would be nice for Jeff to have a role as a bat off the bench. Wonder if Mets leave this afternoon for the West coast. I root for a 20 inning high pressure game tonight!
