Why consign Morabito to 4th outfielder status? If (yes, it's a big if) he can hit, play him regularly and make Soto the DH. The team is more important than Soto's hurt feelings.
Devenski is not a major league pitcher, sorry.. Young did not have a good game...bad bunt & blowing a run down. That's 1963 Mets stuff. Morabito played very well in field & at plate. Semien has warning track power....5 times this week he's hit ball to edge of track...mis he trying to hit homers??? He's flaming out....he'll be totally ineffective next year....stop hoping
Semien? You've got to be kidding. Sure he's a great fielder but he really has been awful in the batter's box for almost most of the season. Bringing him back in 2027 would be a huge mistake. The same goes for Baty and Vientos. We don't need .230 hitters which is about the best they can muster.
The Mets continue to provide good vibes for the future.
If they can get a few pitchers, including a starter and relievers, the position spots are filling in nicely. Semiens is temporary, but okay at that level. Deal with 1st and 2nd; what is left? Deciding if Alvarez returns. And you have some extra people in the minors to serve as trade bait.
