You guys are young as fuck. The Ojeda trade that got the Mets over the top and the 1986 World Series wasn’t even in the conversation. Piazza hitting that HR after 9/11 was an iconic moment in sports history. No mention is Reyes? He won a batting title. Also, the greatest SS in Mets history was Rey Ordonez. He didn’t hit a lick but you couldn’t get a ball past him and his double play turn was like watching ballet. Kevin McReynolds during the season was great too. I don’t give a shit about WAR or fucking metrics. I’ve been a Mets fan since 1975 and I’ve been through it all. I want a goddamn WS championship before I die and I don’t feel closer to it right now. There are some good prospects coming up for sure but this Stearns is running this team like he is still in Milwaukee. When you come in second for FA you might as well be dancing alone. I’ve also heard a lot of the kids in the minors are coming up on rule 5 next year. If they aren’t going to make the big club what the fuck are we saving them for if they can just be lost for nothing?

We are young, but Lindor is definitely better than Reyes and Ordonez.

In your eyes and like I said according to WAR andyheee types of metrics. The fact remains this team still hasn’t won a fucking thing in 40 years

What does that have to do with this, though?

As a Mets fan. Everything. You don’t know the history of the team before the 90’s. The Bobby Ojeada trade was what got them over the top. Keith admits it too. I’m going to see GK&R at Drew university in February in an open forum for speakers. Rings matter
