The Mets and Braves will play a double header on Monday after both games were postponed due to weather. Plus, thoughts on MLB's lack of decision-making.
The thing that worries me about this team showed itself on Tuesday - the offense going AWOL suddenly and the soft underbelly of the bullpen when the starter can't get passed the 4th inning. We have 5 games left - can this squad keep it together for 5 games? We shall see, but we should also expect to see the "off" switch on the offense again.
The Royals are two games ahead of the Twins with three to play. Game 1 matters. We shall see how much games 2 & 3 matter to them.
There is a reasonably possible scenario where the Mets clinch, but the Braves and Diamondbacks don't. The Diamondbacks would not be happy to have a not too enthusiastic to risk much Mets team face the Braves at Atlanta for a DH on Monday.
Games on Monday and Tuesday with only ONE game possibly next Monday would have made a good deal of sense. The Mets would not have liked to play without an off day. They easily could have been as flat. They wouldn't have had Diaz. But, it would have made sense.
Hoping for 2 0f 3 in Brew town, KC takes 2 of 3 in Atlanta, SD and AZ beat the hell out of each other, and Colorado does the same to the Dodgers, and Washington, gives the Phillies fits! Maybe we will only need Syracuse to go to Atlanta on Monday
MLB bungles is right.
Truist Park is getting old! Maybe the next stadium they build will have a dome for those hot 'lanta summer nights (and hurricanes)!
That was a righteous rant about Manfred's alleged leadership of MLB and one that isn't said enough. Well done!

The Mets can clinch on Saturday with wins on Friday and Saturday and 2 losses by Arizona
