Best part last night was hearing Gary & Todd talk about McLeans benders being like wiffle ball pitches.

🤞 for Soto. I think last night showed the vision of what this offense can do. Bichette looks like he figured out how to hit again and Alvarez and Vientos are both locked in right now. McLean is the real deal!

Bichette was probably pressing a bit in early going and it's natural to overtly after being sent to the biggest market in the nation.. He'll relax.....and he made a hell of a play on a diving snag and throw to first. He's a pro & he will be ok.

Oy. Soto. 😬😬. Saw some replays of McLean’s pitches from last nite’s game and he was downright filthy. The way that ball moves is like nothing I have ever seen before. He was freezing guys and those that did swing looked foolish. Heard a comment from him that said he just squeezes the ball as hard as he can and throws it as hard as he can and even he has no idea what it will do. If or when he does figure out what it will do I guess is the next step because if you can understand the what and why’s of pitching he will be in the Cy Young category for pitchers. Perfect game heading into the 6th I’m told. Happy the bats came alive. Gotta keep it going. Polanco should hit the IL for a few days to heal up. Vientos is hitting right now and he can be the DH. How much longer does this team keep Taylor on the roster? He offers nothing with the bat and should Soto need some time they have to call up MJ or Pache to man his spot. Love Taylor but his bat is non-existent. Hitless still.

So Lovelady gave up ANOTHER run?? This one camouflaged due to lopsidedness of the game but he's surrendered a RUN EVERY outing he's had?? And I'm a bit late but the Mets are suffering from the same coaching/player execution failures as last year..

.Lindor messing up a double play cause he forgot number of outs, & then getting picked off. Catcher napping/lolligagging on a pitch bouncing 5 ft. away & allowing runner to advance....this isnwhat separates merely goid teams from great teams....yes, like the Dodgers.

Excellent news for Soto! Better than I hoped. "Day to day" sounds wonderful to me.

Let's see how they do against top tier pitchers coming up today and tomorrow.

Vientos hitting is a nice surprise. I was wondering if it would ever happen. I'd play him every day and sit polanco for a while. While McLean was perfect for 5, tong and Scott have been getting lit up in Syracuse. Agree that a few weeks out is probably best we can hope for with soto. When I read "he's off to a hot start", I thought "he's been hot ever since he picked up a bat". More or less...
