I'm okay about putting in the closer to get key outs in the 7th and 8th though the problem is that you are left with an imperfect situation in the 9th. Worked 1/2 times so far.

1) Diaz is NOT dependable anymore for ONE RUN Games . He needs to trust the other relievers.
2) Mendoza CANNOT continue using Iglesias in the 5th Spot . That is affecting Alonso and JD Martinez because they do not have protection . Iglesias is very good but he is not a power hitter and we are giving advantage to the pitchers against Alonso and JD. Mendoza should switch JD (5th) Iglesias (6th) or having Iglesias 9th to be back to back with Lindor .
I'm not giving up on Diaz. At this point you go with the horses that have gotten you here. Philly is a terrific team and splitting there is not the end of the world. Now bring it back home and LET'S GO METS!!
The Mets really have a decision to make going forward as to who will be the closer. Let's stop holding on to the image of 2022 Elite Diaz. He's not that guy anymore. Any closer can blow a game here and there, but it seems like a 50/50 shot if we are going to have EdWIN or EdLOSE. That's not going to cut it for a team that wants to be a consistently playoff-caliber team. Maybe he's now the set-up guy and we find another closer. Your move David Stearns.
I hope Citi Field is deafening.
Not excited with skip putting Diaz in the 7th inning. Sends a bad message to the rest of the bullpen

Someone to pass this info to Mendoza .
Fans were at Citified to watch an away game. Did the Mets open their stadium to fans in such a situation before this postseason?
