Trading for Kwan doesn’t seem to make sense if he’s going to play left and push Nimmo back to center. Yes it solves a problem for the offense, but creates another on defense. Couple that with the idea that the way Nimmo is raking, I want to change nothing for him. He seems very comfortable in left and moving him to center requires more running and general wear and tear - not good for a veteran who’s been managing injuries and staying on the field thus far.

good points. All of this is academic as the Indians won't trade him....their fan base would mutiny.

New member here. I’m also a member of Mets Fix on Substack. Looks like Lindor is getting back into form after his horrible O’fer. We all saw what he did last year and If he can reach that again along with Soto and Nimmo raking that bodes quite well for the Mets. The Steven Kwan trade won’t happen. Stearns isn’t parting with Sproat. The very least he may wind up in the pen or making a start this season. Is anyone convinced this rotation is going to stay healthy and in tact the rest of the season? I wouldn’t bet on it but it sure would be sweet. Manaea’s last start worries me. He gutted through 5+ plus he wasn’t sharp and I feel that elbow is bothering him and Senga is an athletic play away from the IL. I could be completely wrong too. Lol

Welcome, James! We’re glad to have you. I agree that Lindor is definitely back, though I’m less concerned with Manaea. This is basically spring/April for him as he’s building his arm back up, and he’s still pitching well despite it all.

I highly doubt Cleveland trades Kwan since they’ve gotten back in the race plus no way we move Nimmo back to CF. I would like to see an offensive upgrade in CF though.

Agreed — it's hard to see Cleveland giving up Kwan without getting a boatload in return. They're at .500 and 2.5 GB in the Wild Card. They're too high up to throw in the towel and trade for prospects.

No way I'd trade any of our top 3 pitching prospects.

Me neither. He's a good player, but I don't give McLean, Tong or Sproat up unless I'm getting a superstar in return.

True confessions: I only watched the 1st inning last night and didn't think Holmes would last 3 and figured he would be in the BP sooner rather than later, despite FO denials.

And PLEASE ... no Nimmo in CF

Nimmo has plantar fasciitis, is 32 and signed thru age 37. CF is not the place for him. 1B may be. I'd give it a shot this offseason, assuming Pete will be gone (again?) He wouldn't be the 1st OF to move to 1B as he aged.

I think the comments arguing this trade won't happen seem logical.

I think the Mets need another starter. Clay Holmes is a five-inning pitcher, and even then, he might need time off. I don't want to rely on Blackburn as insurance. The appropriate pick-up also stretches the pen since the guy can go 2-3 innings in key situations. Maybe even 4.

A starting pitcher! Good start to the road trip. The more Nimmo continues to produce, it becomes easy to see why Judge loved him way back when.
