Good piece. But I need someone to explain to me why Mendoza used Diaz to get 3 outs when we had a 6, that's right, 6, run lead. Makes no sense to me. If your low leverage guys in the pen can't get 3 outs in this situation, they shouldn't be on the team.

Mendoza thinks we will lose to Fried today? LOL. Seriously, I assumed he figured he could pitch today if necessarily and then he has his off day Monday. I don’t know if any reporters asked him why.

I honestly don’t blame him. Stanek looked terrible and I was getting worried. I think once Diaz got warmed up you probably just have to use him or lose him for today anyway.

They did ask him in the post-game. He said because Diaz was already "hot"

He shouldn't have warmed him up in the first place.

I disagree. The way the Yanks kept coming back, he very well could have been needed.

I don’t blame Mendy either. The arms in the bullpen are inexperienced or DFA pickups. Win today’s game and start again tomorrow. Yanks could put up 6, for sure.

I'm here, too. We're seriously short of arms, and we're going up against Fried today with no starter of our own, let alone a front line guy to match up. Chances are, we're not going to need Sugar today anyway.

Let's roll into the break on a high note! I like they are looking for pitching, and adding the walking wounded back. I wonder if Met world is as exhausted as I am. Gete to the break, I need a short rest at my tender age!

Looking ahead to after the break: While Alvarez, in his short stay with Syracuse, has hit 4 HRs, his BA remains sub .200.

I noticed. And Vientos still looks lost.

Yep he’s not hitting. Just has the HRs. Hes not ready to be called back up yet

Montas was better than his line yesterday. That was a really encouraging performance.

I finally thought they had enough runs when they did the leg kick
