It's always nice to add a front-line starter if you can get him cheap, but the biggest need for now is the bullpen. I'm not sure we could even create a slot for a new starter unless someone gets hurt.
Which could happen at any time, of course. Senga especially has proven to be somewhat fragile. But with Sean back and Montas pitching effectively in his return too, we'd still be in good shape in the rotation were something to happen.
A higher priority is relievers, and lefty relievers in particular. Raley is back early so we don't want to overuse him. We need at least one more, maybe two.
Unless you are just gliding through a dream season, an addition who has not been performing up to expectations, gets a little shook in comfortability and wants to prove his old team wrong, and his new team right in expecting that he will be a difference maker. Cease could be that kind of guy and come cheaper than someone else. I think the world of our Manager, but think he might read up a bit on our guy Gil in giving guys a blow every so often. Not talking platoons, just an occasional day off. The team will survive and thrive.
"In a 98-pitch outing, Alcantara allowed just one unearned run on four hits over a season-high seven innings, striking out four and walking none. It was vintage Alcantara, who induced nine groundouts, including two inning-ending double plays."
Lindor will go through another slump, it's just who he is. Given all the injuries to pitchers and the much lamented lack of clutch hitting, it's remarkable (no, not "incredible", gag) that they're in first. Anybody notice that Marte has an obp of .356? Going into the season, the consensus was that he was through. The consensus was wrong.

Those early RBI hits were huge. Hope they both can keep it up.

I wonder how much his price went up yesterday
Unfortunately, there's still plenty of time for another slump for our All-Stars. It's the timing that is the crucial question.
