The Mets-Nationals game was suspended after a nearly four-hour rain delay in which fans weren't given any notification until the decision was made.

What’s Up with the Mets? ⚾️

  • The Mets and Nationals were suspended by rain on Saturday with Washington leading New York 1-0 in the top of the third inning - they will resume play at 12:35 PM today with game 2 scheduled for 4:35 PM

  • Joey Lucchesi allowed a run on four hits over two innings on Saturday - he will not continue when the game resumes this afternoon, as the Mets will leverage the bullpen over the game’s final six innings

  • The Mets will have David Peterson start on Monday to give Justin Verlander an extra day of rest

They are officially unwatchable, must be the worst performing offense in MLB, cannot score more than solitary runs, never a sustained rally, zero power, beaten up by the worst teams in the league. How can the manager not be held accountable for such a travesty??

Would have been better for an actual rainout, since now both teams wasted starters.
