I love that Baty And Vientos did well in this game. I know the lineup construction won't allow them to play together often, but I'm rooting for both of these guys. It'll be interesting to see if either Peterson or Manaea can get it together.
Fire Mendy. Iβm going to keep saying it until it happens and it doesnβt matter how well the team plays. I am happy for Vientos. If he gets back to his debut season this team will go far. Holmes was great. Iβm not ready to get excited and believing this is it and the team has broken through. I need to see it for an extended time to lose my pessimism. Iβm happy. Donβt get me wrong but two big games havenβt wiped the bad taste from my mouth yet. Hope the winning does start though.
Bad bullpen management. Can someone explain why myers was wasted in a very low leverage situation yesterday? It's the slot for lovelady or garcia, not the 10th inning of a tie game as we saw last week .
I mean, Lovelady has already this year and has worked in a large number of games. But that is not typical for this time of year. They try not to work relievers on back to back days early in the season.
Mendoza is absolutely fine imo. Every manager struggles with BP decisions especially when weβre short handed with 1 spot taken up by Manaea who can only go every 5 days.
As always, my mantra is: you stink-until you donβt; youβre good until youβre not. The key is to play mediocre ball when struggling- .500 - for a short time and not languish there while avoiding collapse. Contrast that with hot stretches. Unfortunately last year was the definition of mediocrity. So Iβll enjoy the current good times while not being a Homer Poster boy until they develop a winning trend, acknowledging theyβll stink at times and be great at other times.

It'll be easier if polanco drops in the pecking order!
How happy is Vientos now that JD Martinez is back with the team? Coincidence? I don't think so. π
I was thinking THE same thing! ;-)

Lovelady worked on Friday, as did GarcΓa. Lovelady has already worked way too much.
In reality, isn't Lovelady a place holder for Minter? Pitch Lovelady more than his counterparts until Minter is called up.
But only mopup.
Relievers can't work on consecutive days? Ever?
why fire Carlos Mendoza?

Who'd be available to replace him NOW???
Jd Martinez has been floated. Beltran. Holding a grudge forever is not my thing .

How much time will Mendoza give Carson Benge before sending him back down to the minors? His fielding is good but he looks overmatched at the plate.
