Good piece! Thanks for researching the early/late stats on Lindor. As you say, Lindor's 4 errors already is uncharacteristic, gotta stop. My boy Megill had a bit of a setback but his stats are still sweet. Acuna looking more and more like a keeper. Still worried about Nimmo. One of these days we'll hear about Baty getting sent down or traded for a very modest return. Disappointing.
Yesterday's game was one that eventually looked like not the Mets' night. Teams can gut out a win in those cases. Not last night. Lindor struggled including a productive (for the other team) error. A bullpen arm looked human. The other team shows they have hitters too. etc.
So, you just win the rubber game, which is a match-up of from what I can tell both replacement starter types. Anyway. Acuna is starting to look good too, including baserunning and defense.
The positive from last night is Acuna starting to look like the player we need him to be with his speed and defense. As long as he can hit. I’m hoping he can play CF.
Tough road trip, especially playing in the cold and the rain in Minnesota. More than a few guys looked pretty miserable.
And yet, there we are with a decent record and with a shot to tie a game in the 9th where we didn't play well. Once we get going, look out.
Luisangel is quickly turning into a lock. And with McNeill on his way back, I'm not sure Baty is going to have a seat much longer. Although the Squirrel is getting reps in centerfield down on the farm, so maybe ...
Megill will be fine. He was rushing it a bit last night, getting ahead of his arm and losing it to the arm side and then yanking it to overcompensate. Manea had the same problem until he tweaked his delivery, so either there's a little adjustment to be made or Hef will tell Tylor, "Hey man, stop doing that." 😆
I am a Lindor guy, but his costly error set the table for the Twins win. He is my leadoff guy, but would drop him in the lineup till his bat gets going
