Scanning last night’s box score, I find the boys had 5 hits, all of them in the 1st inning, and they phoned it in for the remaining 8 innings: zero hits. Under my cardiologist's advice, I didn’t watch the game. He likely saved my life.

I’m not GM material and wasn’t a big Harrison Bader fan last off-season, but his .282 BA, 16 HRs, and .827 OPS, coupled with his plus defense, sure would have looked sweet in Citi Field's CF this season.

Game set match on the season. This team for the past 80 games is bunched with the Rockies, Nationals, White Sox, & Twins. A winning percent of .408. That won’t get it done. I expect they don’t make the playoffs.

I still don't understand why the Mets didn't get Bader. The personnel decisions have been horrific.

Excellent write up. Yeah the rangers are hungry and pushing, but the Rangers can’t win on the road. deGrom can’t get run support. Throw changeups and you win the game. If Rangers win one, I’d be happy.

I am not for rest of season. Want Mets to LOSE THEIR WILD CARD position to Any of the teams that are barking at the ass

Let Stern and Mandoza look in the mirror.

Yes, players are not doing their best, but leadership in ANY COMPANY - TEAM- household has A LOT TO DO WITH HOW THE PPL THEY LEAD DO.

SOMETHING in Denmark smells

Mets are already down by SIX after ONE INNING. Tong has already been pulled. The reality is that he needs more time in AAA. He's just not ready yet. Only took took DeGrom 6 pitches to get through Lindor, Soto, and Alonso. Any bets on the final score. I'm going with 12-0.

For the most part last season, the Manager was golden. Since July more like Lou Costello!

This collapse is on Mendoza and the hitting instructors. Taking the first pitch every at-bat, with no bunting or slap hitting in the arsenal, is a recipe for disaster. They’re locked into the belief that power hitting alone will win the day—but against today’s pitching, only Soto has consistently figured out the top arms.

I say to the ghost of Ty Cobb: why have you forsaken us? We need you now—to choke up on the bat, slap grounders through the infield, or dunk soft liners into the outfield. A little small ball could change everything, but the Mets have abandoned it completely.

2025 will join 2007 & 2022 in the annals of the worst Mets collapse.

Sad to admit that they are quite good at collapsing.

Mendoza not good enough - didn’t handle relief pitchers well this season and probably to save his job he kept saying I believe in this team it is full of talent - all trus but they needed a kick in the ass manager - not a sugar daddy telling them how wonderful they are.

They deserve to lose the wild card - maybe the smug asshat Stern can learn he is in NY not some small market.

He better be ready to TRADE his flowers for a thorned bush hedge or they will do more dunce repeat next year too

By the way - who the hell was the asshat who took on Cedric?

In my 80’s, abd I even knew that was asinine move
