Even if the environment wasn't new, his performance will fluctuate some. No reason for hand-wringing. Btw, we have to give Mets management credit for how they've handled Senga. Proof's in the pudding. So he's not going to give you more than 6 innings very often. Be grateful for what you've got.
Even Ive noticed runners are terrified of trying to steal a base against Torrenz as he's gunned down half that tried. Perhaps T should play 60% of the time as Alverez arm isn't as accurate....and sometimes wild. T hits in critical situations too....I like him as a primary catcher. Much respect.
Soto's career numbers in March and April aren't great. He's about where he always is, maybe even a little ahead. He'll be fine.
I think the real stories so far, other than the stars and Pete's huge start, are Acuna and Torrens. The former is clearly our everyday second baseman, and the latter is going to get plenty of reps over the course of the year with little-to-no dropoff from Alvarez.
Human beings generally need time to adapt to a new environment. Juan Soto is no different no matter how much money one is paid.

And the way they are construed 6 from him fits the bill!

The thought has always been: “He’s got 15 years to figure it out”. /s
I wasn’t going to think about stressing over it until at least June, because his mere presence in the lineup has made Lindor and Alonso numbers jump.

That's huge.
