Other than Soto and the O ... Helsley and Stanek come up HUGE while still a two run game.

And ... if they get into the playoffs ... could there be a surprise addition from AAA in CF?

Soto is different. We’ve all seen him from afar as he was on other teams but this guy is special. Did anyone think that ball was headed over 408? You look at the replay and it looks like he just missed it. The ball explodes off his bat like I’ve never seen before. His swing is different than any player in the league as his whole body is used and it comes from his back end. It’s unreal. I remember what his projections were for this year as writers were saying he won’t hit 40HRs this year as Citi field is bigger than Yankee stadium. Although I think all his HRs last year would have also been out at Citi. He is the man and thank uncle Steve for getting him. How did Stearns think Siri was better than Bader? The guy is unplayable. When Taylor comes back who goes? Mauricio I guess. I’d rather have the kid than Siri on the bench tbh. The guy sucks. That triple that went by him it was like he never played the outfield before. My god. Benge has to be the plan for next year but if he’s not I suggest Stearns get on the horn for Durran in Boston. If these guys are getting hot now was it possible they have been playing possum this summer? They have been saying all year it matters who gets hot at the end. It’s impossible right? Sproat was done in by defense but luckily the bats picked him up.

Glad people are seeing the greatness of Soto

Also Soto incredible Stolen Base % with his walks, makes him even more of a Superstar. As every walk or single can become a RISP, DOUBLE

PS. AND THAT THE REASON FOR ALONSO RBI SUCCESS.

SO MANY RISP OPPORTUNITIES THANKS TO SOTO

I think they gotta bring back Pete. He carried them early in the season and I’m sorry 35 Hrs and 120 RBI’s is damned hard to replace. He posts! Plus his D has gotten better every year plus he picks ‘em better than anyone in the league and if you’ve watched this team he has saved a lot of errant throws from this infield.

I will give Alonso credit for catching bad throws at 1B

Either on great stretches at 1B or scooping up bad throws from other Mets infielders

And the next day, he let a ground ball under his glove. He has very limited range, for a person in his prime. One the WORST right fielders in the game.

Soto giveth and Soto taketh away.

Yea but I’ll take the 40Hrs and 100 rbis and 35 SB every year to make up for it.

Roberto Clemente is spinning in his grave.

Nah. Lindor and Alonso carried him in the beginning. Since Soto's gotten much better, the team has not. He's a DH. The Mets have not gotten a come from behind win in the 9th. That includes Mr. Pretty Stats.

BREAKING DOWN ALONSO UNBELIEVABLE BATTING AVERAGE & HOMERS OVER 6 GAMES

TAKING OUT HIS 3 RUN EXTRA INNING HOMER

MEANS 5 RBIs IN 6 GAMES

AND THATS WITH LINDOR AND SOTO GETTING IN BASE ALOT

IS ALONSO BEST HOMER HITTING DONE WITH NO ONE BASE AND PITCHER ISN'T TRYING TO PITCH ALONSO AS TOUGH

*

*>M1B Pete Alonso is hitting .435/.481/.957/.1.438 with four homers, eight RBIs, seven runs scored, and three walks over his last six games

If they get in these numbers will be the difference.

OK, I'll do it ... is there anyone with a functioning set of eyeballs reading this think the ball that fell out of Siri's glove was a double ... thus not an error? Because it was a long run to the ball? No prizes for the correct answer, as it's a matter of opinion and there is no definitive answer. 😀

BUT IT WAS A PLAY THAT SIRI, A SUPERSTAR DEFENSIVE C/F, SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT.

YOU COULD UNDERSTAND IF MCNEILIN C/F HAD DROPPED IT

Taylor, for better D and same O as Mullins, should start in CF

or McNeil if you want better O

Siri with his excessive Ks should be in AAA or DFA

BIG ERROR....he looked quite rusty out there! He's much better than that.

Soto is awesome. I can’t believe there are still “fans” who complain about that signing. I think Siri gets DFA’d if Taylor comes back. I thought Sproat pitched better than his line and should have gotten the 5th. I’d consider piggybacking him with Peterson.

Wonder if the Mets long 6 run inning in the 4th, which streched mets lead to 8-2, caused Sproat to leave game after the 4th inning

Good point 👊 that probably was the thinking.

Tyler Rogers is only guy Mets got at break that's been effective. He's been great. Siri was a little rusty in CF but line shot that skidded past him was unavoidable. Cutting ball off was only option ...if he angled towards CF fence it still would have gotten past him to wall.

Funny announcer story: Watching DC feed and their color guy says when Soto up to bat...'The best pitch is to throw it right down middle of plate. Sometimes they can't hit that! Next pitch Soto crushes ball furthest I've ever seen him in Mets uniform. I laughed 😅

Just wondering, if this was the homer that i think it was. Guess Soto knew it was going to be a homer. As it looked like he watched it for a full second or so before he started to run.

Risky as a homer hit to the longest part of the field, alittle opposite of the other way to centerfield.

And the wind be damn.....
