Not much to say after Since April 21st summary. I will never understand why Baty is still here and Iglesias is not up - we don't need the Whiz Kid's infielder friend from the Brewers up here with his PED Suspension. U can't rebuild this mess in one year so we will have to suffer next year also just not as bad. I still believe the Whiz Kid is a FRAUD ! Cohen needs to determine early on what FA's he wants and then sign them and not get involved with Boras's dragged out negotiations for Soto and Alonso !!

Bro I don’t know how you do this everyday, report for a stinking bad baseball team but man you do a great job doing it. Always well written and full of facts and ideas. You leave it out on the table and I appreciate you and your team for that. One day we might turn this around and look back at 5/29/24 as the lowest of low points. Oh I forgot they have another game tonight. But you get what I mean. Keep doing what you’re doing. Let’s god mets.

The Mets need to remember the plan they mapped out when they cleaned house last August; see what they have on hand and in the system.

Stearns' really screwed the pooch when he signed JD Martinez, effectively hurting both Baty and Vientos in the process. Every effort must be made for them to play every day, because they're going to be here beyond this season--JD will not.

If they can get a good return for Alonso, then trade him. If they want to resign him for the next 10 years, they can do that in the off season. I wouldn't, because he's turned into Adam Dunn and not worth the money.

Unfortunately, they're going to be stuck with Lindor, McNeil and Nimmo, because of their contracts, even if Uncle Steve were to eat a portion of the remainder, they wouldn't get much of a return.

Severino, Manaea and Quintana can all be had for prospects as they've got arms locked and loaded in Syracuse.

As Mike Francessa used to say, "Back up the truck!"

As much as I hate to say it, this core just isn't getting it done. It has been a season and a half now of the same results. Every now and then you'll see a glimpse of what they could be, like the 2 weeks earlier this season when they went on a run. But the bad play outweighs the good, and in many cases it's fundamentals on both sides of the ball. They just can't put together a complete well-played game. On the rare occasion when they actually have an offensive breakout, the pitchers get shelled. And vice versa. We have seen enough at this point to know it is a bad team.

Everyone needs to be held accountable, and if it continues to be more of the same, then it's time to make some changes. What these changes are, I have no idea. The market isn't great for a whole bunch of underperforming Mets. But I would rather see Acuna up here than watch more of the same from this dreadful offense. Marte and McNeil are both expendable to me at this point. And I'm a McNeil fan. But he has been lost at the plate. While I would prefer to hold on to Pete, I'm certainly more open to a trade given the state of the franchise. I just think they have missed their chance of cashing in on a great prospect haul for him.

Yes, the Mets ARE a bad team and we knew this was going to be a season for evaluation. I have a simple solution for the third base conundrum. Trade JD Martinez! They NEVER should have signed him in the first place as he's made ZERO impact on the team's ability to win or lose. Then, Vientos becomes the full-time DH. Problem solved. Baty, though he's struggled at the plate, is performing no worse than McNeil, Alonso, Nimmo or Lindor. Leave him alone to figure it out.

Ive started to pay more attention to the minors. It seems we have more legit prospects than we’ve had in a long time. Hopefully we get more at the trade deadline and turn this thing around sooner rather than later. I have faith in Stearns and Cohen.

Yeah. People talk about "blowing up the team."

The team is filled with spare parts. There are very few players who fans would miss. If McNeil went -- and he's one of the few with some "Mets character" with a nickname and everything -- it would not somehow horrify us, would it?

The parts often play well separately. They could be helpful for a better team. The starters yesterday vs a very good team, (if one in a slump) gave up three runs in thirteen innings combined. The pen had a good run until they were overworked. One or more would be useful on a playoff team's stretch run. etc.
