I'm pretty much in the same mindset I was in around this time in 2024. Stearns should look at trading off ALL of the free agents-to-be and undergo the full rebuild that should have started two years ago. And if Soto and Lindor don't want to hang around for a rebuild, they can go, too!
Mr. Baron has laid out a sobering statistic....4 different 3rd baseman, 4 different 1st baseman, and from left field to right.....5,3,4 (or so). I hate to say this but like another societal causation, ya couldn't destroy a team better if you TRIED to create chaos in the roster like this. It's truly amazing. It'll be his last year here & he can go to another team....AA. He needs more experience.
Why didn't the Mets sign Luis Arráez? I know he's not Keith Hernandez, or the slug of the Polar Bear, but why not? He doesn't have a good OBP? At this point, who cares?
I thought the basic idea was to get someone who has played 1st before, has goo"bat to ball" skills, and posts?
While the arguments against Arráez abound, he fits what geniass Stearns plans were.
I saw an article noting that June 1st might be the point when they begin to seriously consider trading people. On June 1st in 2024, their record was 24-34, or 10 games under.
The team has a tougher schedule in upcoming games, including a Yankees series. We shall see how they are in three weeks.
I was for signing either Okamoto or Murakami to play 1B, preferably the former player (before the season). Either one would have been good. Baty could have stayed at 3B (even though he sucks most of the time), saving a ton of money (to sign someone like Ranger Suarez (who I also wanted signed). There were too many ifs at starting pitcher. McLean was the only "sure shot"—and he was a rookie. Holmes is a nice surprise though.
What to do now? Give Ewing and Clifford a chance, along with Wenninger. At least, it wouldn't be boring to watch them try in the bigs.
A very good poker player plays a bad hand well! From the look of things the Manager has failed to provide any consistent role for the players he has to use. And his lineup placement of players is horrible.

The David Stearns Mets are a train wreck ... but there's always the casino.

Make it make sense!!!
Why was Andy playing 3rd? Cause he's on the roster???

The at bats are uncompetitive. Starting the 8th, Rodriguez had only thrown 80 pitches. We definitely need to trade some of these guys
