How are the trade deadline Mets faring? ✍️
It’s never too early to take a look at how your team’s former players are performing.
After a shocking trade deadline that saw the Mets jettison several players who were meant to be significant pieces of the 2023 season, resetting the roster for at least the remainder of this year, one begins to wonder how those ex-Mets are doing in their new homes.
While it’s only been about two-and-a-half weeks, we figured we might as well take an early look at how some former friends are faring…
Eduardo Escobar – Traded to Angels for RHPs Coleman Crow & Landon Marceaux

Dominic Leone – Traded to Angels for INF Jeremiah Jackson

. . .
It’s still early on but the early returns here show that other than Max Scherzer (where was this all year, by the way), no former Met is off to a great start in their new homes.
Ultimately, the success or failure of these trades will be determined in the years to come as we see how all of these prospects develop. In the meantime, though, there’s no harm in checking in on how the guys they dealt away are performing.
Around the League 🚩
The Dbacks climbed back to within one game of the final Wild Card spot with their 3-1 victory over the Padres
Mariners OF Julio Rodríguez went 5-for-5 with a home run and five RBI in the club’s 6-4 win against the Royals
The Dodgers edged out the Brewers, 1-0, thanks to seven strong innings from RHP Lance Lynn for their 11th consecutive win
