If I were making decisions for next year Alanso 1b?, Acuna 2b, Lindor ss, Baty 3b, Nimmo lf, I'd find a real CF that can hit and field, Soto rf, Vientos dh, Alvarez c. G it's time for Peterson to throw a gem tonight!

Arent the Mets bringing up one or two super rookie prospects next years

And both Alverez and Vientos have to play alot better to solidify Starter Roles. Or possibly Acquiring better in 2027

Both have to stop swing at balls eell off plate

Both KKK Too Much

Both Walk Too Little

Have to Beat Best prior Power years

Without Average Suffering too much

Vientos close to 40 Homers

Alverez close to 35 Homers

And like Vientos 3B Defense, ALVEREZ has to upgrade his Catcher defense greatly

As really shown up, by the Mets 2nd Catcher, the Great Elite Torrens

Or even Senger who is alot better on Defense than Alverez

KKK? Really?

Sorry never noticed that before or has anyone mentioned it before

I just used the 3 Ks as a strikeout symbol

Now i will go back to just one K

2 Ks?

Peterson another sht show. I called it weeks ago, that Peterson has suked lately while all were complaining about Manaea and Senga. So Peterson with an era over 7 in his last 10 starts or so

That's where I would go, too. Plug a centerfielder into that lineup who can hit and we're in good shape. Carson Benge doesn't look to be ready yet, but who knows? Maybe we can catch Oklahoma State lightning in a bottle twice.

(Of course, we had PCA in the fold, but I don't want to talk about that. LOL)

Misc Comment from Above Articles

If Torrens Alverez are both hurt, whose 2nd catcher after Senger

Manaea pitches a solid 5 innings in long relief, getting the W. I for one, thought Manaea wasn't pitching too bad this season. He just came back from injury early, had no spring Training to get his arm in shape AND WAS HORRIBLY MISMANAGED BY METS MAMAGER AND COACHES

Your just coming around on Baty. Which is long past due. Especially as the article said he's been hot since 7/4. 2 1/2 months BABY.

Said awhile Baty should be batting alot higher than 7/8 every game.

And Baty should be batting wherever Vientos is put in lineup. Especially with Vientos high K rate, low BB rate, and is very very slow

Tong 100% shouldn't be a Mets Starter next year. He needs to start 2026 year in AAA. From a previous Baron srticle that i didn't previously respond to

AND FOR 3 METS WHO DONT GET ENOUGH CREDIT. BY JUST METS STAFF

NIMMO MCNEIL have had a very good year. And with SENGA great first half. Are big reasons, Mets had best record in 1st half of 2025

Happy to see you’ve turned the corner on Baty. He has a good glove at the hot corner and the numbers don’t lie with the bat. I feel relief when I see him penciled in at third and quake when Vientos is there (in the field anywhere tbh) he has also played admirably at second but Acuna is much better there. I also believe Acuna will hit when afforded daily reps. He needs to figure out what type of hitter he is going to be. Which should be a gap to gap doubles guy with his speed he can lead the league in triples. Good to see the team jumping on King early and he’s just back from injury so it was good to get him there. Is the team getting hot? Time will tell. I’m not there yet.

I hope Acuna will hit, but even coming off the bench, ACUNA

IS METS BEST AND FASTEST BASERUNNER

HE IS McNEIL WITH SPEED

POSSIBLE GOOD DEFENSIVE REPLACEMENT O/F AT LF/CF. IF MCNEIL CAN PLAY O/F DEFENSE WITH NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE, THEN A FASTER ACUNA SURELY CAN

GREAT INFIELD DEFENSE AT 2B SS 3B

MADE THAT GREAT PLAY SAVING DIAZ LAST GAME

SPEED TO GET BALL IN 1ST BASE HOLE

GREAT CATCH ON A TOUGH SHORTHOP

VERY POISED, GOT UP FROM GROUND, TURNED AND PIVOTED

MADE A STRONG ACCURATE THROW TO WIN GAME,

THAT THE METS WOULD HAVE LOST OTHERWISE

I concur but would like to see him get a little rope next season. If he can hit (which no one really does anymore) 5 guys hitting .300 in both leagues??? Him getting on those basepaths 2 times a game would be sick. Jett Williams can also fly plus Benge has wheels. Team speed will kill as Milwaukee has shown the league. Small ball can win games.

On no 300 hitters anymore, that kills me.

Ps. One of my favorite Mets ever, keith hernandez has a lifetime batting average of 299, if I remember correctly.

And who should be in the MLB HoF, having multiple awards of all needed awards

But didn't hit homers in 2 big home stadiums, Cardinals Busch and Mets Shea

SO STUPID

11 straight Gold Gloves an MVP season lifetime .299. Not in the Hall is egregious. An atrocity and they better remedy it because I’d like it be something he can cherish because you know it would mean something to him the way he loves the game. I’d be pissed if he got in after he died.

So an ice cold Marte bats 5

And a red hot baty bats 7

James Schwartz's avatar

That’s Mendy’s gut!

JOHN DANIEL's avatar

Been like that all year. Worked well until Marte recent cold streak.

And if Veintos was in, Mendy gut would still bat Baty 7

Just glad i guess, alverez isnt hitting 7 and Baty 8

JOHN DANIEL's avatar

So marte Ks

Baty batting 7, DOUBLES

Alverez batting 8 swings at ball 4 to line out for 3rd out

As Mets still down 2-1

Ps f mendy gut

Confidence is everything. You could see the difference in Brett when he came back up for the last time. He wasn't frozen in place at the plate anymore. He was twitching a little, on the hunt for fastballs and looking to do some damage.

Pencil him in at third, do a light platoon with Vientos (Swaggy can be the full-time DH most of the time), and let's rock and roll. Starling can come off the bench to PH when needed or be the DH when there's a really tough lefty and we need to load up on the other side.

I'm not sure where that leaves Mauricio, but we'll worry about that in the off-season. He's so bad from the right side he's effectively a left-handed hitter anyway, and Baty is better.

McNeil in center, Baty at second, Vientos at third. OR, McNeil at second, Baty at third, Vientos in the DH slot.

I texted my son last night that I think the Mets have to keep Baty now so I agree. While probably not having star potential he definitely looks like a solid MLB hitter with very good defense at 3rd.

I’m torn about brining back Pete only because I don’t think we can bring back the “core 4”. They’re all too streaky. I’d rather move on from Nimmo but that contract may be tough to move.

I was impressed with how they came out last night. It showed us something...but will it continue tonight?

Expand full comment
JOHN DANIEL's avatar

Nope not continuing tonight at least at 9 inning tonight.

Peterson gives up a grand slam homer

Alonso gets an early homer but then 2 late Ks when a homer was needed.

Including a K ending the 7th inning, with Alonso as the game tying run
