Do they keep records for the number of HRs with no one on base? Yeah, getting picky.
I think the game demonstrated the need for some more RH firepower, or they're going to be fed an awful lot of LH pitching. They've got Pete and no one. Alvarez and Vientos contributing some pop will even out the lineup some. Let's take back 1st place for good today.
Quality bat that should be hitting sixth or seventh. He can't run the bases. .257 hitter. If he was faster, but he's not. Acuna still has to learn, but what better way than between Lindor and Soto?
It's great to see the Mets wake up this way. I was beginning to think it was going to be the opposite of last year. The winning didn't start until the second half of the season.
Our collective mental health needed that game last night.

Agree. We get neutralized by left handed pitching
I was skeptical but that is what the stats say. If Vientos and Alvarez produce at even an average level, it's a different team.
Spot on. Pete can't be the only right-handed power in the lineup.
Marte is all parte'd out.
Possibly. He got off to a rough start, probably because he had to adjust to the DH role. But since May 31 he's been a lot better.
He's not a true slugger anyway. Quality bat. Really, it's Vientos and Alvie who were supposed to supply the power from that side.
But alas, it didn't happen. Or at least not yet.

Replying to myself: "Yes, they do = All seven were solo shots, tying a Major League record"
Devensky was great last night....hes been in league a long time but has only pitched like 200 innings. Hope he helps rest of year
Jonah Tong is just more intriguing as he pitches more.
When is Ewing going to get promoted?
One small step for the Mets, now hopefully they take the giant leap to the all star break!
