Happy Holidays from Just Mets!
Thank you to all for reading and supporting us this year!
🎄 Good morning and happy holidays to you all! 🎄
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for reading and supporting Just Mets in 2025.
We know the last six months in particular haven’t been easy with this club. And, the last month has been especially difficult for everyone emotionally as we have watched as the Mets have traded away two homegrown and long-tenured star players, let the most prolific hitter in their history and another homegrown star walk to another club without much of a fight, and then of course let the best closer in baseball go to the best team in baseball.
That’s not easy to digest to say the least. We get it, we understand it, and to be honest, we are just as confused about the short and long-term direction of this club as you are and the rest of the world is.
But, we knew after the 2025 season that something needed to change after what can only be described as an utter disaster and slow bleed out from the middle of June through Game 162. Mets President of Baseball Operations David Stearns hinted at a seismic shift with the roster both at the immediate conclusion of the regular season in early October, then again after the Brandon Nimmo/Marcus Semien swap in late November when he essentially said they couldn’t roll with the same squad in 2026.
Even so, the last month’s worth of transactions are still difficult to digest and believe, even if they turn out to be good decisions over the long haul.
Time will tell if that’s the case, and as angry as some are at ownership and the front office, these moves cannot be judged fairly until the roster is complete and quite frankly, the 2026 season is complete.
We have no choice but to be patient, even through the dissatisfaction and the heartache.
In the meantime, we wanted to wish all of our readers a safe and healthy holiday. We hope you enjoy this time with your family and friends, and if you’re working, we hope it’s as stress-free as it can possibly be. Baseball and sports in general are supposed to be our distraction away from the daily grind and trial, and in the end, it’s merely entertainment with this time of year serving as what life is truly all about, which is our families and friends and spending time with them.
If something happens with the Mets over the next four days, we will be here to let you know. Just check your email and we will have it covered for you.
Once again, Happy Holidays, thank you for reading, supporting, creating a little community here, and helping us grow this site into what it has become.
Talk soon!
