Next, I've been converted: Benge should win ROY over Stewart. His superb fielding to go along with an OBP over .340 is hard to beat. Beef: why in God's name did they bring up Mauricio a while ago only to have him sit on the bench? What was accomplished by trotting out Semien day after day when we already know exactly what to expect from him? I hope that decision was Stearns's rather than Green's because I want to think that Green is a smart guy.
Well done and I found myself nodding throughout. Manaea is a good human and I will give him a pass on the silly comments about fans giving Pete a curtain call. Since he's not moveable at $25M, having a pricey long reliever, spot starter and situational lefty would be better than having him as the 5th starter. The Mets will be in a better position if Manaea is NOT the 5th starter in 2027.
