Very interesting to see offensive performance by position statistics. I'm still glad the Mets didn't sign Iglesias. Got to give the kids a chance and that's more than 10 games...Braves have done this, successfully, for years. I think you should give Baty some credit as he's been pretty good in the field at second. I wouldn't give up on him yet. Btw, Nimmo looked lost at the plate, leaving a bevy of runners on.
I am rooting for Brett to be successful but he continues to be a pretty easy out. Acuna iis able to handle 2b and is capable of giving Lindor a blow at SS. I like the way he takes his rips at the plate. Again, starters going 5 eventually will blow out what has been an amazing bullpen thus far. 1/16thof the season in the books!
Totally agree on second base. As much as I hate to say it, Baty is always a millisecond behind when he faces big league pitching. He gets that millisecond back at AAA or in Spring Training and looks like a world beater, but then the season starts and he loses it again and he becomes an easy out.
So, hand it to Luisangel for now and we'll see where things stand when the Squirrel gets back.
Speaking of Acuna, I'd like to see him bring his hands down and be in a more ready state when the pitcher delivers. I think he over-swings because he has too much to do to get in position, get loaded, then shift his weight.
If his hands are already there and he just has to load his back leg and power the bat through, he might start making more hard contact. Which is all he needs: just drive the ball somewhere. Anywhere.
