Great development with Holmes. What about if Baty continues to hit? Will there be enough roster space for both him and a backup shortstop like Acuna? Is it acceptable to have two talented young guys who only play, say, one out of three games?
I like the way we're going about managing the rotation. In the age of high-stress, high-spin rate pitching, it's asking a lot for arms to go more than 180 IP, and 160 IP is arguably ideal. (MLB might have to start considering a small roster expansion, maybe to 27 players. But that's another subject.)
Sad news about Sarah Seaver. I've been in a heck of a cancer battle myself for the last 18+ months. I'm about to finish one course of chemo (today, actually) and then I'm starting another one, twice as long, for the rest of the year and maybe into next year.
So, I know what it takes. She was very brave, just like her dad. Requiescat in Pace, Sarah. 🙏
Rest in Peace, Sarah Seaver. Wonderful remembrance from Jay (Horrible) Horowitz.
Weird to see IF'S used in a sentence and it not mean infielders. 😊
