For the last couple years I've said I'll consider the Astros cheating business over and done with once Beltran has a job in MLB again. I understand how it happened, but the fact that Beltran got exiled while AJ Hinch, Alex Cora and the players involved got next to nothing (Cora and Hinch got one season suspensions, which turned out to be just 60 games) before being welcomed back.

Glad to see Beltran back. Should never have been gone this long.

For what it's worth, I don't understand why the Mets keep trotting out Beltran thinking the fans are suddenly going to love him. Never did, never will. I know about his great metrics, but for whatever reason he's never connected w/the fans. Sorry. Not sure why they think that'll change.

He's there for his baseball acumen. Period. He's one of the brightest in the game all around. He has value in a baseball operations role.

It has nothing to do with public opinion. Its not a popularity contest.

Agreed. This is not about retiring his number or the HOF. Beltran will be a top executive in the game in 10 years.

Win/win situation.
